Receives, opens, date stamps, reads, classifies and routes correspondence, reports, and other miscellaneous materials to all offices within the Medical Center. Incoming mail without proper routing is carefully reviewed to determine the organization and organizational level where the reply should be prepared. Sorts all incoming, inter-office and outgoing mail including medical records, and official, patient, personnel, complaint and congressional mail. Incoming mail may include checks and on occasion cash which mandates absolute accountability by logging in receipt of cash or checks and forwarding to Agent Cashier. Operates government vehicles with valid state driver's license as dispatched to pick up and deliver mail, in connection with the dissemination of incoming mail. Lift mail tubs and packages weighing up to 70 pounds. Drives delivery van to pick up and deliver mail on and off the medical center grounds. Sorts incoming patient mail and places it in sealed envelopes for ward buildings using DHCP computer system for patient location. Returns, where indicated, U.S. Treasury checks in distinctive envelopes addressed to discharged, deceased, or transferred patients to the issuing Treasury Disbursing Office, noting the reason for the return. Picks up outgoing and inter-office mail and reviews for completeness of address and conformance to applicable instructions, regulations and directives. Processes all outgoing mail into categories and size as appropriate. Utilizes mail carts for mail delivery throughout the Medical Center. Operates van to transport mail to outside stops, i.e., patient buildings, administrative offices, laundry, etc. Determines if appropriate envelopes or containers have been utilized to avoid extra charges, fee or fines, i.e., one or two pages in an oversized envelope cost $.87 instead of $.41 in regular envelopes Processes registered, certified and insured materials (both incoming and outgoing) and maintains log of all transactions by date, reference number, forwarding address and postage amount. Process FedEx packages and sends copies to senders for verification and tracking. Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of general experience in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have at least 2 years above high school level. OR, Combination:
Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. For example, to determine the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; then add the two percentages. Physical Requirements:
The work requires arduous exertion involving prolonged standing while operating mailing equipment; sorting, walking, reaching, picking up or delivering mail and involve pushing heavy carts and 70 pounds mail bags.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
